Brine Shrimp?

This is not so much on Betas but I do not know were else to put this topic. Are Brine Shrimp sea monkeys? I saw a pic of them for the first time and they look just like my old sea monkeys...I had no were else to but this so sorry for putting it here.

That's what it seems like. I too had sea monkeys before and when i started looking up things on brine shrimp they looked the same as my sea monkeys. So i have a feeling they were brine shrimp and you just didn't know it.

I use to own a sea monkey farm when I owned my first and second and third betta. Then they all died out because they would not breed. I am ordering more soon. I thought brine shrimp was like shrimp...Yes dork is a funny word Sorry I think it is a funny word too


Sea Monkeys are brine shrimp. They call them sea monkeys for the children. I use to own tons of them. I just never knew they were brine shrimp until I came across a pic of brine shrimp(sea monkeys)...My sea monkeys were more clear and not red like the pic I saw. But thats the food you feed them. I think they are cute pets and would be great for a class room pet.

I have never been able to feed my fish sea monkeys, I dont mind blood worms or daphnia but the others are real cute...

if you want sea monkeys/brine shrimp, just go out to utah and go to the great salt lake. scoop up a cupful of water and there'll be tons of sea monkeys in it.
or you could pay me to go to the great salt lake for you.....

Zippa get yourself to a Woolies and get in the kids toys section, you'll come across some tacky looking plastic tanks with cartoon creatures on - that's sea monkeys. Basically you add water and these eggs and watch them hatch, and basically not much else, unless you want to pour them in your tank with the fish *insert evil cackle*. Not had them myself, but thought about getting it for someone at christmas as a secret santa gift.

I saw sea monkeys at Toys-R-Us they are brine shrimp, and apparantley you put in some powder stuff in with the eggs in this small tank. I remember getting brine shrimp eggs with my microscope kit and in the instruction booklet it said something along the lines of... "How to hatch your brine shrimp (or sea monkey) eggs"

Fish food they're some kind of tiny things that people thought would make good pets for kids

If you want them to feed to fry you need the first hatched baby brine shrimp, its better to get brine shrimp with a high hatch rate rather than sea monkeys. There is a thread on here with how to make a home hatchery. You can also buy them online

I got one of those grow your own "triops" I think kit but havent got round to doing it yet...
