I feel really stupid asking this question :*)
Ive been given a 4ft tank which had a 3ft fluorescent fitting inside the hood.I bought a new bog standard tube for it for 30p(B&Q closing down sale) It is 30w and 3450k.
As this isnt much good for growing plants Ive just bought a Glomat 2 double fluorescent control unit off e bay which arrived today. It says 30w on the box.Does this mean Ican put 2 30w tubes in or is it 30w in total?
The sound you hear is my late father,an electrician, spinning in his grave!

Weaver,

Just had a quick look, their website claims that your unit is for T12 fitting, and I guess you have picked up a T8 from B&Q? If the plugs go on, then I guess you are ok, but I think you will find they wont fit. Forgive me if I'm wrong. However, if the fittings are not on the unit, then if the wattage is ok, then fit up your own bulb connectors, and you should be OK.

thanks sub
ive maybe put the question badly.im gonna keep the original unit and add this one but i am not sure whether it takes 2 30 w bulbs or if its 30w in total?
