Is it unusal for males not to make bubble nest cause ive been tryin to breed them and there not making their nest ?

i have done it to what the sticky say's about breeding but they seem not interested

i have the female floating in the tank at the moment with on male he flares at her all the time and she doest it back on occasion ...but no nest

if i release her do you think he will start making it or not !!!

im new to breeding betta but have breed crimsion tide african cichlids before and guppy most people have done that

yes let her go he will chase her for a while thenas she hides he will take those opportunities to make his nest little by little

How did you condition them and for how long? How long have they been together? What's the temperature of your tank?

I feed them up on a small amount of blood worms twice a day for a week
temp is around 28 degrees 80 Fahrenheit I think

She has been in the jar in the tank with him for 24 hrs now

I shall release tonight when I got time to watch her

Sorry only do this if she is showing stripes if she is flaring i don't think she is quite ready she will show stripes and try to follow him when he goes away, you say small amounts you should fatten them up give them blood worms three times a day that way (99.9%) spawn first time...just make sure she is ready or she will hide and he will have no interest in her apart from chasing and that will not benefit the conditioning, and will end up a failure....... ;)
