Hey

Im new here and have just started to breed my first tiger barbs.

I have made sure that the water specs are EXACTLY in the right conditions and i have separated 3 females and 3 males in to 25 gallon tanks. Now it looks like the female tiger barbs stomachs are about to EXPLODE WITH EGGS! I have also put some narrow leaved plants in there for the tiger barbs to spawn around.
I lined the bottom of the tank with marbled so the eggs fall through and the barbs dont get a chance to eat them and intend to remove them after spawning- That is the tiger barbs and the marbles.

I plan to put in the male tiger barbs in in two days time.

Have any of you had any experience with breeding tiger barbs, if you have a few pointers would be helpful

Thanks! :good:

Welcome to the forums.

I put my experience with TB's in this thread a few years ago.

Well done, hope you can raise them. Add a write up on the technique you used, bound to be different from mine - the more recipes there are in the melt, the better we can serve those to come.

Well i fed them infusoria after 4 days after hatching as they needed time to consume the eggs sacks.

After about a week I started feeding them high quality vitamin enriched VERY FINELY CRUSHED flake food.

I couldnt get my hands on baby brine shrimp

They are now growing steadily still feeding off flake food but less finely crushed.
