i have an air line should i keep it on when i am trying to breed swordtails or should i turn it off so there are no bubbles in the tank?

It shouldn't make much difference.

Is the airline running your filter or just for decoration?

Yep, it's personal choice. If it's pretty strong in a small tank, and you're worried the babies will get blown around, you can disconnect it. But sometimes they like to play in it. So it's your choice on what you think is best in your case.

Edit: Oh, if you're using it for a filter, definitely don't stop it!
