Hi,

I own a really healthy breeding pair of bristlenoses, who spawn every month or so - they are both from different parent fish - completely separate blood lines.

Would it be possible to in-breed their young once mature and have healthy fish - or will I end up with allsorts of problematic fish?

Thanks,
Paul

Some how I don't think your going to get any kind of healthy fish from inbreeding!! Have you seen the Royal family?? That's what inbreeding does!! Why not invest in another female??

my mate has done it with endlers for about a year now and there hasd only been one disformed fish i dont know about egglayers

I thought as much..

The only reason I ask is that in the 'grow up' tank there is a remaining pair of sibling bristles, one male and one female - they are starting to mature and I'm wondering whether to split them or see what happens.

Regards,
Paul
