Breeding Royals

I have a male and a female royal pleco and am wondering if it would be posible to breed them in my 200gal tank.... if it is posible what are some tips/tricks of the trade that i could use to increse the chances of the breeding and produceing offspring

someone correct me if i'm wrong but aren't all Royals wild caught? meening no one has bred them? they also get far to big for a 20gal tank

What type of Royals are they, 190 or one of the L27 variants?

How have you sexed them?

I have heard secondhand from a contact in Singapore that someone there claims to have bred L27 by accidebt, other than that you are not going to find anyone that knows how to breed them, it's just not been done in captivity afaik.

having seen the size of adults in Pier aquatics I;d imagine they'd need to be about 7 yrs old or something and in a decent size tank to breed I have a royal now and have had what I considered a large royal a while back but then you see the adults in Pier at about 14 inch long and with heads about 7 inch wide

I know it's difficult to say how quick they grow in the wild but I would imagine based on my experience that a 14 inch Panaque has to be at least 10 yrs old.

I want to see pictures of the OP's fish and set up, 200 gals in some tank

I'll post some pics of my 220 after it's up and running. Not planning to breed royals in it though, more likely either red severums or Tanganykian featherfin cichlids and some incidental BN plecos. Tank is glass, 7'long x 2'deep, and a pain in the back to move.

Would be great to see yours TnB, I would love have a crack at scaping something that big, would need a few trees to satisfy my wood fetish!
