i have a few spare 10g tanks.. and ive been wondering about puffers.. any type of puffer i could try to breed in a 10g tank? just names would be fine, so i can then go research them... ive seen neon dwarf puffers, but so far thats all ive noticed really

most puffers are difficult to breed, mainly because in most species, it is very difficult to sex them. dwarf puffers have been successfully bred in captivity, and can be sexed when they are adults. males will have wrinkles behind the eyes and will get a black stripe down the length of their bellies when ready to breed. females will lack these two characteristics. there is a website where an owner chronicled his breeding of dwarf puffers: http://www.rr.iij4u.or.jp/~kohda/en/en-dwarfpuffer.htm

thanks, that was very informative... ill take a look at the ones at work and see if i can distinguish males and females, but id like to read more about them before i make a decision

thanks again
