Hello everyone, I have notice that there is nothing pinned in this area for breeding pleco's. I am hoping someone would be able to help me in breeding these. If anyone has tips and advice I would love for it to be shared with me. I have recent breeding experence in Betta's(2.5 years), Guppies(2 years), Platties, Anglefish. (Currently trying Dwarf Gouramis) But I am growing a liking to some of these weird looking plec's that are not normally seen in stores. Also I don't understand the entire L52 etc etc, for these plecos what does all that mean. I know I use to have a Albino Bristlenose and a normal brown one ><, how do I tell females apart from males etc. Hoping that someone will shine some light on this subject, it would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

there is lots of people on here that breed various L numbers and will be able to give you lots of advice. L numbers is basically a way to categorise different species of plecs. You can find out more about each L number at planetcatfish.com.

It depends on the species on identifing the male from the female.

Goodluck

yes plecos can be easy to breed but a the same time you need to have the wright envioroment for them to breed.

if you get the right envioroment for them they will breed quiet quickly but the other fish sould be ok.
