Hi,

Within my tank i currently have a few different plecs (1xL182, 2xL114, 1xL176) and i was wondering how easy it would be too breed the L114's or the peppermint L176?

I know the L182 can be bred and i could easily look for some other ones but i really like the other two types of plecs. Any info would be great as i am thinking of moving out some of the plecs and trying to breed one type.

Most suckermouth catfish can be bred in captivity. The smaller species are easier to get going. De-worm every catfish as they just about all carry intestinal worms. Make sure they are mature and really well fed. Have plenty of hiding places for them including plants, driftwood and pipes and caves. Keep the water warm and do regular water changes.
The fish will often breed if they are subject to a massive water change or to daily water changes. This simulates their natural environment where they start breeding during the wet season and it rains each day.

Thanks Colin,

The plecs are in with Discus this now so the water is quite warm and they get plenty of water changes. I may have to invest in a couple more peppermints or another couple of Starlights instead.
