I’m interested in breeding nerite snails. I know they need salt/brackish water (and I’ve read various threads on here about it)…however I have some pretty silly beginner simple questions (they may need to go in the saltwater section in fact but I’ll try here first).
What kind of salt to do I use to get salt water? – Aquarium salt?
How much salt do I need?
I’ve read 1.005 to 1.010 salinity; is this true?
How do I measure the salinity?
Do I need any other special equipment?
I also have another pretty stupid question…example:
say I have a 2 gallon tank and I have 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon and I do a 50% water change, would I add 1 gallon with 1 teaspoon in or does it not quite work like that?
