Ive only ever had at most 2 females in my tank in the last 7 years at most but id like to know how many females would i need to produce up to lets say 200-300 fry every week? i decided id buy a guppy every weekend then each week ill have a birthing, no? after a while of course, what colours would breeders of guppies like on a guppy? red, blue, black or green (neon green) most my fry have neon green stripes at the moment from there flame dad, any suggestions btw ive an 80 gallon with only a few fish in at the moment like 3 guppies, 19 guppy fry, 2 platy fry and 2 albino molly fry along with a pleco and 3 blue shrimp.

it needs to be mass production like.
and would it be better to feed foods with 60% protein then most of the time? btw every 6 months ill cull the females for a month to regenerate from being in with too many guppies and im only having at most 4 males and about 20 females? would that be too much?.

Most chain stores dont take fish from private breeders, if you dont already know.

I live in ireland so its different and ive been ask to breed them i didnt just wake up and say, wow it be great to breed guppies for a store. so i want to get started as soon as possible its a family owned business not a chain business.

Well say each guppy produces 20 healthy fry. You need 10 females for 200 fry. The gestation period is about 3 weeks. So you need 3 sets of 10 females, so I'd say 30 with 8-10 males.
