So this is my first real breeding project and i thought i'd turn it into a journal. The chosen fish are Green Terrors. I know GT's are supposed to be fairly easy to breed, but i think they are lovely looking fish and don't want to be jumping into the deep end. This is also the first time i've kept a large species of fish.

The fish are about 2-3" at the minute, temporarily living in a 3ft tank, along with my tetra and barbs. There obviously a bit too young to sex, but in my unexpirienced opinion one is definately a male. He's much larger and has a slightly different shaped head. Also, im sure that i read male's get blue spots on there fins as they mature? Eitherway, he/it has blue spots showing through (see pics below). When i first introduced them in the tank he was very dominant, chasing the smaller one everytime he saw it. This has changed a lot, and they are often swimming around together.

They are currently been fed three times a day. Morning and evening they have flake, and in the afteroon they get pellets. So far i've been giving them live food once a week. Is this ok? They really do have a big appetite, and i'm sure it won't be long until i'm forking out for there new house.

Here's a few pictures....

Thankyou for looking :)

I'm in love with my GT, excellent little (big) fish. I'd definitely breed them if I knew what to do with the fry  looking forward to watching this thread progress :good:

Thanks mate :)

Little update. The aggression levels git quite high a week or so ago. To the point I was going to take the smaller one back. Fortunately it's quietened down a bit.

They've both grown at least another half inch since I've had them. Eating like kings!!! Also, there colouring is really starting to come through. Look beaut!

I've noticed, everytime I clean algae and remove snails, they go a real pale colour and a perfect black line appears along there bodies. After about half an hour they return to normal colour. Is this signs of stress?

Will post some picks tonight

Cheers
