I want to breed glofish but I heard they eat their eggs and that the eggs are hard to see. Can you give me some advise on how to breed, what will I need for the babies, how to tell if the glofish is a boy or girl, and stuff like that.

I think breeding Glofish might be illegal; can anyone confirm/deny this?

If it isn't, they'll be exactly the same as the normal Zebra Danio (which is basically what they are). There is plenty of info online about breeding Danios; they're not that hard. The females will be larger, more stocky and less intensly coloured than the males. You would need to set up a breeding tank with lots of fine leafed plants or spawning mops and you'd have to remove the parents after spawning. You'd also need a source of very tiny live food, such as micro-worm for the fry.

Hope this helps.

As far as I am aware they are illegal to sell in the United Kingdom and the rest of the European Union.
I think they are legal in the United States, but illegal in California.
As for the rest of the world, Im guessing they are illegal

As for breeding, im guessing they are just similar to standard Zebra Danio, here is a link... Danio Rerio

EDIT: It showed up a post was written after mine, but I never saw it? MODS! Whats happened? Offensive message or somethign?:crazy:

James.
