How do fry breathe before they develop the labrynth organ? Just through gills, do they develop first?

Im not an expert but I think the fry breathe with gills til their labyrinths are developed

Yep, they breathe like normal (non labrynth) fish.

yeah so you're going to need some kind of aeration in the water (sponge filters, air stones, etc)

they develop their labyrith organ at around 3 or 4 weeks
