hi,
will CRS shrimps breed in a 5 US gallon tank (19L)? i have heard they need large tanks but will they breed in a small tank?

or alternatively, will these guys cross breed with cherries? (i think they will but not sure)

I bred mine in a tank only very slightly larger so yeah I would say so. They cant cross with cherrys though.

CRS will directly cross with CBS, bee shrimp, golden bee shrimp, blue bee shrimp ect for other colour morphs as they are all the same species. There is then a chance that it will hybridise with other cardinia sp. but that is only slight and it is impossible for it to hybridise with neocardinia species such as cherrys.

so i can put them in with cherry's?
what about amano's?

thanks for the help guys, appreciate it.

Yes you can put them in with both, though they breed slower than cherries and the cherries tend to overcrowd them. Adult amano shrimp may eat their young.
If your specifically looking to breed lots of them stick with with more docile shrimp like one bamboo shrimp along with some red nose shrimp.
