Hey

I've decided against getting Peppered Cories. When i went to the LFS, i showed them to my family and they didnt really like them.

Is there any other cories that a easy to breed and active?

What about:

Corydoras panda
Corydoras schwartzi
Corydoras arcuatus
Corydoras metae
Corydoras duplicareus

Any others?

Thanks

C. Aeneus are very easy to breed if you're looking for really easy. I have pandas and got them breeding too, but that did take a few months. Trilineatus also seem to spawn with the right conditioning. I'm not sure about the rest of the cories on your list. I've never kept any of the others. I have Sterbai too, but never bred them before.

:D

I AM IN LOVE WITH PANDA CORYS!!

i am going to my lfs soon to get 4 pandas to go with 2 of my other corys. i would love for my pandas to have babies i cant really find info on how to breed them! if anyone knows things like water temp if i find eggs (obv would be in a spawning tank) and where would they most like to lay there eggs (i have a terracotta pot in half in there would they lay them in there? also what would they feed on in the spawning tank?

Here is one article about breeding Panda Corys. It is pretty similar for my Panda breeding set up. Exception is I use sands substrate to keep any Corys and not gravels. Since most of them prefer if not all. And I keep my Pandas colder. The tank have no heater and temperature hover around low 70 to high 60F. And they do like fresh high oxygenated water. They originated from higher mountained river I hear. Anyway, I get about dozen eggs from my breeding pair every 4~5 days. You can read my post also.

Some people think they are not hardy. But I think as long as you keep them in cooler clean water and no other threatning fish and group of 6 or so. They are happy cute little fish who wink at you. I keep mine by themself or with their own frys or small tetras or hatchetfish. And I don't have any problem with it.
Unfortunately I don't think it would be good with Discus. Not because of fish match up but their optimal temperature is far apart. Panda Corys prefer low temperature.
