I am looking at breeding caves online, as I would really like to get my albino Bristlenose to start breeding. Well, i don't know what kind I should get. The cheaper the better. I was looking at these two:

One is called the twin breeder cave (it's $ 7.10)

the other is called the fish breeding cone tube log (its 3.29).

I don't know which one I should get (or are these not good choices?). Can anyone help?

Hi kribensis12

These are some I bought at one of the conventions. I've had BNs breed in one of the longer tubes that I had in the tank with the hole on the bottom. There were no other fish in that tank so he might have felt more secure in it than if there were other fish trying to swim through it.

The round one is nice and I have it in a tank with similar sized BNs. It looks like a good fit when he goes in it but there have been no eggs in there yet.

Next to that is a tube that is closed at one end. It looked good when I bought it but it just seems too small to use. I could be wrong about that though.

Hope that helps. They are the only caves I've used. BTW, I've had some luck attaching java moss to one of the ones with the rough surface.

Yes, that was some help! I was a friends the other who breeds bristlenose and he pulled 3 batches of babies that night. I discovered that they really need a tight fit if they are going to breed, as they love to wedge their head into the tube. I was not aware of that. I just figured that they would breed in a regular cave (a pair of commons I had did, but only once).
