I am fairly new to the aquairium world (at least as a fanatic) and would like to breed some cats i hear you need a pond for plecos what about rafaels are they spawnable i would like to try cory's for sure or upside downs any imput would be appreciated. Also do i need sand or will gravel work fine.

To begin with start small and work your way up. Use some peppered/bronze corys. You will need three fish, one male two females (you can identify female corys as they are larger, more stocky and have a more rounde3d dorsal fin). Enswure that water conditions are right and feed them a mixed diet of blood worm, daphnia, small pieces of algae wafer etc.
I'm no authority on cories, but this is a goodf starting point and some one will (hopefully) fill you in on the specifics.
Concerning plecos..............it is very hard to breed the common hypostamus pleco, nay, it is impossible. But over species of plecos are easy to breed i suggest you look at some of the more commonly available species of ancisterus.
as for the raphael cat sorry i cant help you, but if you want something interesting to breed look at synodontis multiplepunctatus

Anyway good luck

right now i have two albinos and two pandas i got them all at the same time and the albinos are 1.5 times as big as the panda and run together the pandas don't ever hang out with the albinos. would they cross breed? I am in the process of stabilizing a tank for breeding. Our water here is off the charts hard and my ph is high here two so i have stabilize it do you have a ph recomendation. I would love to breed some plecos prefferably not commons though
i have a 55 gallon
15 and a 10 and am deciding what to set up next week

for most plecos/cories i would recommend a pH of about 6.5 and to do this simply add some mopanii/bog wood to your tank. Careful water maintenance will lower the hardness of your tank eventually.
I dont believe cories can crossw breed at all, i've never actually heard of this except in chichlids.
Recommendations in plecos are as follows, common brixtlenose, xsenocara bristlenose, peckolita taparas and whiptail cats (make sure the whiptails are the same species, the most commonly available is the farlowella twig)
