i seen numerous posts and siggys bout ppl having male fighters in 1-2 gal bowls but wondering what setup i need to breed bettas i looking for something fairly cheap to set-up but also easy to maintain upkeep any advice much appreciated i see if i can get colours diff to red n blue lol all our LFS's have round here plus if i get females i can sell a couple for bit extra money as they hard to come by round here

I wouldnt go into breeding with the thought i could make some money because you will be really dissapointed.I am getting 4 males and 3 female Bettas but i have no intentions of breeding for a long time till i gain lots of Knowledge
You say they are hard to get yet in another post you say

1 pets@home FS has hardly any bettas in but 10mins down road at the barn they are brilliant know there stuff very clean and tidy healthy fish never crowded plus they always have male bettas mainly reds and blues but went last week they had tank of females plus they can order female gouramis in if ya need 1 so although ya dont see many im sure if ya ask the LFS if they any good they should b able to order one in for ya.

yeah i know i wouldnt make loadsa money and the LFS can get females i only see em in rarely. plus its bout 10-20min drive ppl who cant drive have less chance of getting em. i only breed em but even if i give em free to good homes not sure if petshop would take females though would think couple might if they have space males definately go quick

i research em first bsides i need to buy more tanks and stuff so i not even at the stage of putting water in a glass box yet so i w9ill be learning lotsnon em just wondered how easy they are cos they look nice but i know ya need a bit of time on hands to keep eye on fish and move when needed etc etc

TOTAL SIDE NOTE!!

Both advatars for Neal & Glass Cats are the same - for a tiny second I thought Neal was agruing w/ himself

Okay back on subject. . . .

In my opinion - I don't think anyone can judge who's more experienced to spawn or not to spawn. If you think you want to start then have a go at it. It's a huge learing experience. Different strokes for different folks. . . (wha does that mean?? )
