Hey guys, I don't believe ive posted on bettas before but anyway... I would really like to breed betta's and I would like any advice anyone can give me. I have a male but i do not have a female as of yet. Some guy from my LFS did try to explain to me how to breed them but he only confused me... :/

Betta spawning is extremely involved, expensive, time consuming and requires months of research - MONTHS! If you research every single aspect of it and you still fully want to spawn, let us know ^_~!! First, you will need a high quality spawning pair if you want to make ANY of the money you put into all of the supplies back. That means ~ you need a healthy, young pair with high quality finnage ~ no VT's, please, there are plenty selling for $0.50 at every pet store in the country. Unless, of course, your Betta spawning goal is to make $10 from the entire spawn and possibly get stuck with 100+ unsold fry. Bettas can have 300+ fry, and at least 1/2-3/4 of them will need to be seperately jarred in 1/2 gallon containers before they're 3 months old.
