ok, after we get back of are holiday my mum said that me and ma sis cAn get a male and female betta and try to breed them, i was just wondering what sort of stuff do you need, what size tank ect.
thanks

Oh boy. Well, "home tanks" for the boy and girl, a breeding tank, and tons of jars to start. Have you researched breeding yet? Do you have a good quality breeding pair (not veiltails from the local pet store)? Do you have an idea how many fry you'll get from just one spawn (could be hundreds)? Do you have homes for them?

If you look on the pinned topic about breeding bettas you will find all the supplies you will need. There are also other websites you can look at for more research.
Very good info
It's sometimes frustrating I know I am going through it currently but I'm sure it is all worth it in the end once you have little babies.

i'm not 100% sure we are going to breed them after we get of holiday if you need to get special bettas, i think probably get 2 bettas keep them for a month or so while finding a big enough tank setting it up, containers, doing some research and then put the male and female in together. so really i'll be new to bettas we used to have a male betta in the main tank but somehow he jumped out we never took the id of so dont know how he managed it.ow 1 question what is the smallest tank we could use just while they start turning into males and females? and whats the best sized tank we could get?

Rather than waiting for answers to each individual question, you'll probably find it's much faster (and therefore less frustrating for you) if you check out the aforementioned pinned topic, as well as the two following links about breeding the pair and raising the fry afterward. You'll also find that following some of the spawn logs posted here will give you something of an idea of the extreme level of commitment required time-wise and financially when it comes to responsible breeding, which should make it easier for you to decide.
