Breeding Betta

When breeding Betta in a small tank, what is the best way to get the female out without destroying the nest?

I have kept Betta and Gourami, I have successfully bred gourami but the fry didnt make it.
But it still was very difficult to net her without damaging the nest.

Any ideas, what do you do?

Wait until she comes up for air then gently snap her up.

In my spawn tanks I use the same method for Male as Femal removal:

I get a very small plastic drinking cup the same terrible kind they sell bettas in.
I sink it into the corner away from the nest, slowly.
I drop some food on the water surface just in front or inside it (the cup is nearly submerged, on its side).
I hold on tight and still, aand the fish will swim directly in front, if not into, the cup. Lift carefully and remove

Very easy and very safe way.
