I have 2 pet Arowanas. I have had them for 2 years now and they stay in a 140 Gallon fish tank with a lot of vegetation where it should be able to find a lot of places to breed. But im not that good of a breeder (It took me a while to breed guppy's). I have looked all over online on ways to breed Arowanas but theres not really that resourceful areas. Has anyone actually done that here and can help me out step by step on how to do it? I have 2 fish tanks if they need to be separated. There both around 9 inches.

Firstly these are not livebearers, but breeding is possible but very difficult.
The lay egg's and the females then collect them in her moth and brood them for several week's

Doing this is an fish tank is almost impossible, most farms use round tanks that are 3 meters across!
Sexing them is again very difficualt, so you would need 4-5 be be sure to have a good mixing of sex's.

So you need to think do u have space to get something a little larger to breed them, and feeding 30-40 fry is very hard. This is not something that a novice could not do very easily.

If you've had em for two years, the arrow's should be longer then 9" and need to be in a bigger tank long term.

Only heard of Arrowana's breeding in fish farms.
