I know i have already posted this topic, but i want to learn more because I need to be prepared.I am planning on breeding bettas in a month or two, or maybe 3. Does anyone have any advice? I already have one male betta. Here is his picture:

Also, where do you get YOUR female bettas from?

i can' tell from the pictures, but is that a veiltail male? when breeding i'd suggest you pick two bettas that are fancy and nice, no use in propagating bad genes and coloring among males.

The only advice is preparation, have you looked into what you can do with all the bettas? ask your petstore if they're willing to buy them off you if you have any, etc.

I think it is a combtail. I know it is a male though. I think it is very pretty, I guess I just have to get better pic of it.

i see :D get us better pics, he looks like he has a very nice color to him  have you found mrs.right for him yet? ;)

no... i dont know where to buy female bettas! lol, do you know any place? Or do you know anyoe giving them away? I know aquabid but shipping is just so expensive there! Oh and it will be a while for the better pics, as i need to charge my camera. *put apple juice in camera* There we go! All juiced up! LOL!

A lot of places really dont carry female bettas, you might have to ask you lps to order them, although I was lucky that mine carried a couple and i bought them. Also they sell them at WalMart. Bought one from there. Was unsure about it at the time but i still have her and shes doing great.

im lucky i guess... one store near me gets 4 tankfulls of different types of females bettas every month or 2....

i know what u mean about the shipping thing on aquabid..

maybe try to find a breeder in your area... search the net for betta breeders in your area.. you might just get lucky
