breeding a blind cory

i believe that i have one female cory and 2 male cory in my tank. the only thing is that the female lost her eyes to another fish about 7 months ago . she now carries on as if she were a normal fish and nothing ever happened. my question is, is it likely that she will ever have babies? i assume sight plays a vital role in the whole process and it is therefore probably unlikely that she will every give birth. i'm just wondering so i know if i should take the time to try and get the whole thing rolling or not.

If your cory seems to get around the tank and behave in other normal ways, I don't think it would hurt to try to get her to spawn. I would give it a try.

If she is mature and in a community tank or with other fish, there is a good possibility that she has already spawned and the eggs eaten before you even saw them.

I would just condition her and put them in a separate tank so that any eggs laid can be saved and see what happens. Some corys need a little stimulation, but others are easier. What kind of corys do you have?

thanks for the comment. i have 1 albino and 2 pepper cory i believe. which raises another questions, will they interbreed or do i need to get another albino as it's the albino that is the female?

If you mean you have an albino female and one albino male and one peppered male, you will be OK. It only takes one male to spawn with a female, but having two or more of the same kind increases the chances that all her eggs will be fertilized. If you are in doubt, get a another male. The larger your school of corys is, the happier they will be anyway.

The peppered cory will most likely not breed with her and that is just as well.

well, i did a little looking around and it seems as though i have one female albino cory (the blind one) and two male Corydoras leucomelas. guess i'll have to make a trip to the pet store sometime this week.
