breeders unit, how long to keep mom

i bought a breeder's unit that has one part for the mom and one part for the fry to drop down to so the mom can't eat them, but my question is this how long do i keep the mom in the unit for after she has given birth to her fry

After she's done giving birth, she's no longer needed in there. However, it would be safe to allow some time for her to regain her strength. I usually feed her some, and take her back to the main tank +/- 4 hours later.
