so i was wondering if i could keep a brain coral under two 28W T5 lighting? i have read that there are two types of brain coral? one need more light or some thing like that? or was it flow? :shifty:
one light is tropical and one is marine white light with one reflector so would it be ok? if not would it make a difference to buy another reflector and one more marine white light?

Personally, I would add another reflector. It will greatly improve the lighting. If you do so, then I would give it a big yes :) Without, I'm a bit hesitant. Although if you target fed them some yummy mysis when they send their tentacles out, that would definitely help their health.

oh ok thanks. i dont know what ones just the easiest one to keep.

do the brain corals have to stay on the sand bed?

I think you would be OK with either. Brains are usually put on the sand bed because that is where they are normally found in the wild (and prefer being) and being on the rock can damage their skeleton as they inflate and deflate. I would leave them on the sand :good:

ok thanks :good: its just that i have seen them on rocks. so if add another reflector it will be ok? or did you mean add another marine white light and a reflector? also would it be ok if i have plate coral in the same tank as well? becuse plate corals can move.

I meant if you do it so each bulb has a separate reflector. It would greater increase how much light the corals received. It's fine to put the two corals together, just like with other corals, make sure they always have their space.

thanks very much nemo and morri for all your help. :good:
