my brain coral has arrived today after being in the tank for about 2 hours it seems like there is small little mouths opening on the soft side of the coral ? the coral hungry ?

Just leave it wait a couple of days. Feeding the coral is not essential most of its energy comes from photosynthesis. It is an interesting observation my hammer coral did the same thing; pulled its tentacles in and the central mouth opened really wide. It then closed and the coral is now fine. Is it placed on the substrate and what lighting do you have?

Regards

its placed near the substrate on a piece of live rock.

have 3x 150watt 10 000k met halides on a 2 meter lenght tank

Nice lighting, is this a shallow tank? The literature generally says they should ideally be placed on the substrate because the rock has the potential to damage the soft tissue. I should imagine that the lighting you have will allow you to place the brain on the substrate. Try directly below one of the lamps.

What kind of brain is it ? Open?

Most brains prefer a substrate position as CF mentioned. They are photosynthetic but I feed mine mysis (open brain). They DO have small tentacles and will sweep the mysis into their oral disc. SH
