Its a sort of salt/fresh water mix... think of where the Amazon flows into the ocean, theres salt and freshwater mixing together there.

Brackish is water with some level of salinity, not up too marine levels. Using marine salt, not aquarium salt. Brackish conditions are generally found in estuaries.
