Hi all, I recieved one of these BOYU overhead lights for Christmas when I asked for an overhead light for my aquarium. Despite being cheaply made, not a bad bit of kit.

Quick question, it says it takes T-5's does anyone know what typa, and, if there are any options to buy plant friendly ones? (it also has a 'moonlight' tube which I want to remove.

So no issues yet, its pretty new, and working fine, just want some spare tubes just in case!

Oh I have got one of those units. I ditched the bulbs straight away as did not like the shade and replaced them with 3 interpet 8w T5s. The ones in the green packet, think they are called tropical daylight. Anyway, much better now.

FAB! cheers! I'm not too up on all this lighting stuff, but can I change out the 12" T5's for 12" T8's or do they require diff power or similar?

Cheers!

HMmmm been trying to google which T5's are best for plant growth (tank is 18" deep) quite complicated!

does anyone know if you can purchase say a 16w bulb for this light unit rather than the 8w, is that possible?
