Bought As "black Phantom Tetra" Two Different Species?

bought 10 of these yesterday, i'm not quite sure these are the same species, although they are very similar in body shape.

They are certainly Phantom Tetras i'm sure but there is a red phantom so it could be a mix?
 
No, they're all black phantoms; the ones with the red fins are females and the one with black fins are males, that's all :good:

Yeah i agree, their is a red phantom but they're a lot more read, the fish are around 2cm aswell so not babies, so they should have almost adult colour now, a hybrid seems most likely, look lovely tho :)

Oh :) thats good then, are these easy to breed? :good: :good:
 
They're not that hard; have a google and you should find some guides; they do need very, very soft acidic water though, and the fry probably need infusoria for the first week or two; I don't know of any tetra fry big enouigh to eat anything else.

My waters just about neutral at the minute, but i'm hoping to lower that slowly, Also, Bloodfin tetras maybe? they're certainly one of the larger tetra! :good:
