Hi guys :)

I bought a Betta today and added him to my 35l tank that houses Endlers and Habrosus Corydoras

I was initially worried about the Endlers nipping at the Betta but it turns out the Endlers are all sticking together and look scared

Do I give it more time to see if they get along ... or go and buy the Betta a small tank of his own?

I think getting him his own tank is the best option, if he's stressing your other fish out. The best one would be a nice 4 or 5 gallon. 3 gallon is a bit of a stretch, but it could work. Make sure you cycle the tank.

male bettas will go after guppies thinking there male bettas.
that being said i have had single male bettas with a single endler and they were fine, it takes a while for fish to get use to each other. they have to reestablish a pecking order, so i would give it some time and see how things order themselves in your tank. be prepared to move someone if aggression is displayed.

I couldn't stand to see my enders so scared so i popped and bought a little tank for my Betta :) 2.5 gallon.

I have put cycled media in the filter. He looks really happy.

I actually rescued him today as our LFS are selling all Betta's for 50p each, they keep them in bags just floating in tanks. They never take them out, I had seen the same one's days later still in the bags :(

He is gorgeous, he is like a peach colour with red markings, VT.

Thanks for the help and i will post a pic of him tomorrow. x

your new tank sounds great! that filter will cycle in no time since you used mature media. filters ive made with mature media (all sponge filters) took less than a week to fully cycle. one was instant.
glad you were looking out for the well being of all the fish!
cheers

Bags floating in tanks. That's a new all time low! Were they sealed off at the tops?
As soon as I save up enough for a 3 gal, I'm just going to grab a betta from the lfs. I'm not going to take a big flashy one that everyone will want, but a nice one that would look wonderful in better conditions. :)
Would it be plausible to run a sponge filter in my 10 gal until I get a 3 gal? Then the tank would be prettymuch instantly cycled, correct?

if you got, or better yet made, a sponge filter to run in the ten gal. until you get your betta, that would be great! use some mature media from the 10 gal. filter to make one yourself and the cycle will be quick if at all once you get the betta. just dont use more than 1/3 of the media from the mature filter in the 10 gal. if you are interested in making your own sponge filter pm me for details. i have three and they are all homemade and work GREAT!
cheers

The bags floating in the tanks were tied up at the top :( makes me wonder how they were fed!!

He is loving the tank, although he hates the filter even though it is quite gentle, I am going to slow it down even more for him.

You guys need to help me think of a name for him, he is really tame :)

But if the bags were tied up at the top, how would they get air from the surface? Wouldn't it run out?
