hi,i was down trimar having a sniff around yesterday, and came across a 7-8 inch senegal with only one eye.i thought i'd rescue it,so i said how much, and monty said £4.99.so home he came with me.bought another delhezi as well(10 inches) so i now have 5 bichirs :hey: .

1 x 10" senegal
1 x 7-8" senegal
1 x 9" delhezi
1 x 10" delhezi
1 x 9" ornate

i bought a 25kg bag of coral sand today, took out my black sand(time for a change) put another background on,gave the tank a good spring clean.tank is now looking stunning(and a bit cloudy  )if i do say so myself

will try and post some pics when the water is crystal clear

thanks mark.

Any reason you are using Coral sand in your Bichir tank?

good for you for taking the one-eyed senny Mark. :good:

congrates on both additions

im using coral sand to keep the ph stable(usually have coral gravel in my external) and i like the colour/texture of it.its slightly coarser than sand, but, not as rough as gravel.i use a lot of bog wood in the tank so the coral sand will keep the ph a lot more stable.i love the colour as well.the bichirs/wood stand out much more against this than my black sand

thanks wolf  .the one eyed senegal/new delhezi have fitted in great.bichirs are so easy to keep plus make great additions to most oddball tanks.would like some more, bot, not enough room

thanks mark.
