I'm looking for a bottom dweller/algae eater that will be compatible with my swordtails, mollies and my lone betta. I haven't added salt to my aquarium yet, but I'd like something that can handle a little salt. Any suggestions?

Not sure your betta would handle the salt TBH.

Why do you intend to make it brackish? Although mollies thrive in brackish they can also handle fresh water.

I just got a dragon (violet) goby, and he's like a little vacuum cleaner sucking up all the leftover food that falls to the bottom of the tank. I would highly recommend looking into one of these guys they are a very interesting looking fish however he creeps out my wife. I haven't noticed him eating algae yet but I've read its sharp teeth are used for scraping algae off rocks.

The violet goby would be very useful then in my tank my rocks are full of growing algae :alien: but with the fish I have not all can go into brackish.
