not sure if this is the right place to post this...but i have a polka dot and i wonderd wheter you can mix species? i saw some cute dwarf versions in my lfs and wonderd wheter i could get them and wheter they would get along and keep each other company?

by polka dot I take it you mean
Botia kubotai
and by dwarf I take it you mean
botia sidthimunki

as botia kubotai reach 5" as adults and botia sidthimunki
also reach 5" they will be fine together.
try and get similar sized ones, I.E don't buy 1/2"dwarfs when you have 3" polkadots, they will eat them.

They will be fine together, most botia species are peaceful and will be fine in a community tank, however, there are some exceptions. Botia sidthimunki will be smaller reaching only 2-3" when fully grown. There is no danger of Botia kubotai eating the smaller Botia sidthimunki, there mouths aren't designed to do so and fish is not part of their diet in general. I have kept both species happily together. :)

thanks yay hopefully the lfs still has them there so sweet.... :D
