Can you keep the Botia lohachata with zebra loaches, or are the lohachata's to aggressive. I have 3 zebras and was thinking of getting 3 Botia lohachatas (cant remember the common name..is it pakistain or yoyo?). At teh LFS they seem peaceful, but that could be that there's about 15 1.5-3 inch ones in a lil 4 gal sorta size tank.... If they're alright with the botia striata (zebras) would they be alright with the typical community like guppies, neons, mollies etc?
Thanks

The commonest name for them is the Yo Yo loach (due to the pattern along their bodies)

As I said in a similar discussion recently -

Not entirely sure that it runs along the same principle but I was pleasantly suprised to see my zebs schooling with some polka-dot loaches that I introduced. I would even go so far as to say I think they have flourished since I introduced the polkas.

I believe that most similar sized loaches from the botia genus will get along nicely - although I have heard that skunk loaches (Botia/Yasuhikotakia morleti) are not 'as innocent as their cousins'

And yes, in my opinion, they should be fine with the typical community species that you quote
