Boi Balls

well i have never really any before.just in one filter.but it was alreadly done.

What i need to know is the ones i got "lee's" they can join together

Do i join them together all place them loosely in the filter part

plus do they have to be fully under water /can water just past over them

Bio balls go in one or more of your filter cages. Their job is to create and maintain a biological bacteria colony to break up toxins in the water.

Most are just dumped in to the sump. Then there are places where one might want to later retrieve them without breaking the sump down then the "Connecting" ones do come in handy (so does string some with fishing line). Also the "theory" is that they work best above water and water just trickling over them (just make sure they get "Wet" ).
