Hi not sure on how to treat this? It is not a fungus, it is a cyst of some sort no wounds to fish etc ? I’ve read that it is common to some what extent and to just do a few more water changes and eventually it should go, has anyone else had this issue? And what did you do to resolve it, many thanks.

It could be an injury but the treatment is the same - daily water changes.

If the OP is concerned about the white mouth on the boesemani rainbowfish, it I probably a fat lip.

Rainbowfish has soft mouths and sometimes swim into the glass when first introduced into a new tank. The mouth looks white and swollen and people worry that it's Columnaris, but it's not. It's just a fat lip and will clear up after a couple of weeks. Do a few more water changes and add some salt (1 to 2 heaped tablespoons per 20 litres/ 5 gallons) if you are worried, other than that, give it time.
