Hi all

Can anyone help me with a problem with Boesemani Rainbows problem,
I have kept several types over the past 2 years with no problem, i brought 2 adult Boesemanis last week to add to one adult i already have.
within the week bothe new fish seem to have lost their scale infront of their dorsal fin leaving a white patch, both fish seem to be at peace with the rest of the tank with no fighting
is there a cure for this problem

thanks to all

Male boesemani can be pretty pushy when it comes to smaller male rainbows and sometimes during displaying they might lose a scale but it's not very common. I would just keep an eye on them and make sure the area doesn't get infected and doesn't get worse. If it goes red then a bacterial infection is setting in. If it goes white and fluffy then fungus is getting into the wound.

Thanks colin
1 have 3 males, would it help if i introduce females, if so how many would you say

You could introduce a few females but if you have room then introduce another male or two as well. Then the aggression from the dominant male will be spread around more evenly. You can even mix different rainbows so if you want another species then get different types of males. They will all display to one another. And if possible try to get males that are similar sized.
