Ok, so 2 nights ago I completely changed my substrate, it used to be 80% sand and 20% black gravel, I then changed it back to just sand as its more astheticly pleasing.

Just looked into a breeding cave as I haven't seen the male for a while, and he's fanning a batch of eggs :D

The oldest these eggs can be are 2 days. How long does it take for the eggs to hatch?

What will happen once the eggs are hatched? Will the plecs swim free and possibly get eaten by my community fish?

How long will it take before I get another batch of eggs?

Think that is all for now :D

Thankyou!

Probably a couple days for the eggs to hatch, then up to another week for teh fry to absorb the yolk sacs. They'll most likely stay in the cave with the male at least that long, and sometimes as much as a week after they're fully developed IME. Once they do go off on their own they will be a fair size, but still easy prey for fish large enough to eat them. How long it takes for another batch of eggs depends on how quickly the female/s are ready to spawn again, but about a month minimum for a single female.

The tetras are all small in my tank, then its just the Mollys and the female Bettas which might try and have a pop at them.
