Bn Sexing

ok thanx coz my lfs are going to order in some albino longfins and i wanted to get them in big enough i could sex them

Depends - I've got some 1.5" babies with no sign of bristles yet.

Remember some females do get small bristles just around the top lip so I'd say 2" to be fairly sure.

lol thats good then hehe 3" is around the normal size but like indigoj says the females do get tiny bristles most of the time but the males get them down there head and across the nose

i was going to breed them but i wont be able to have more than a male and female coz i alredy have quite a few bottom dwellers

Hi
So they must just starting to mature.
I know when they make the switch from juvenil to adult, some as already turn into mature fish and some are still in the juvenil phase.
I had problem for sexing some Hypancistrus sp L66 this way, I first tought to have a good mixup males and females, out of 6 fish, I have ended up with one sure female and 4 sure males and one that is still unclear as it seem to young but could well turn into a male as some features are male typical...That period is really tough for sexing your fish
Cheers
Yann
