How many BN plecos can I house in a 33 gallon? More than one?

I plan on getting a school of cories as well, maybe 6 of them.

If I get two BN plecos, is it still OK to get a school of cories?

The tank has a big cave and some driftwood. Medium planted, nothing else in there except for some MTS.

Thanks.

I have 30 gallon and have one, personally i wouldnt have more than 1. My tank was full of algae and it only took one night for a juvenile bn plec to clean it up. I guess you could have 2 if all you wanted was 2 plecs and a mts.

Wow! Quick reply!

That's good to hear (about the algae I mean)

Not more than 1 because of not enough space/territory or...

really depends on a lot more than tank size...

What sort of filtration do you have?

We have a 30Gal with 2x L134s 1xL075 and a bristle nose.. 2 ladder loaches, 4 prestilla tetras, 5 rummy noses and 3 khuli loaches. the tank is heavily filtered and well planted. Its got a powerhead filter and an external 304 on the tank and waste and water quality wise its fine.

You should never rely on just algae to feed your plecs - they will need a varied diet including blood worm algae tabs cucumber etc...

but with a lot of hiding places and a good diet, multiple bristle noses will be fine in a 30gal.

One AC200 and one Penguin 170 = 370GPH.

My tank is well planted, with at least 30-40% of surface area having plants. Big slate cave surrounded with rocks on the left, and an arched driftood + java fern on the right.

Thanks for the info on the diets, matches what I've researched.

But if I do get a couple of BN's, would cories still be OK? I'm working from the bottom up, no idea what to keep in the mid-top level...

Thanks for the info!

I forgot to add in my last post, if it isn't too much trouble, can you post a picture of your 30G with the L134s, L075 and BN?

Just want to see what kind of hiding places or rockwork you have in your tank.
