Hi guys, as the title says...

my fairly new BN plec seems to have a a bit of fungus... (cotton wool type growth)i just wanted to check the best way of treating him/her??

I plan to isolate him and treat with meds.... i have both Interpet 'Anti Fungus and Finrot' and King British 'disease clear' (broad spectum which claims to treat fungal infections as well as others etc.)

Does anybody know if one is better than the other?? Also is it okay to use full treament with plecs or should i half dose? plus salt is a bad idea isn't it?

thanks xx

Where is the fungus sounds like columnaris, you will need in the uk for treatment seen as we don't have access to antibiotics, anti fungus and finrot med by interpet, plus anti internal bacteria med by interpet, good luck.

thanks

so you think the interpet ones best?

it seems to be at the top of the back (bottom of head), will i be okay to use the normal full dose or should i half it for a plec?

It should tell you in the instructions if not to use full dose with certain fish, columnaris is nasty so if it dosn't tell you to half dose with plecs i would go in with full strength, best to keep with the same manufacture when you have to mix meds, don't forget to remove black carbon do some water changes but add the correct amount of med back to the water removed, plus turn temp down abit, good luck.
