I have had my BN plec for about 3 weeks now, it hardly active, and only just come out recently for feeding when I drop in the pleco wafers, All he does at the moment is stick on to the glass in the same spot all day untill I drop his wafers then he "headbutts" fishes of his food and sucks it, then goes back to the same spot. It is a male BN plec, I was wondering what could I do to make it more active, Should I consider getting it a female BN friend? Please help , thanks in advance.

What do you expect it to be doing? Barrel rolls?

Get some mopani root or bigwood from your local fish shop. Soak it for at least a week in cold water then pour boiling water over it on the last day to prevent nasties from entiering your tank and to remove some tanins. It will like grabbing onto it and even going under it upside down. The wood is beneficial to the BN plecos health.

But really, if it's not feeding, it hasn't got any reason to move around does it?
