Hi all,

My BN Plec fry Hatched a couple of days ago :hyper: .

I had a fw problems at the start with them getting sucked ito my internal filter, but I'm emptying it every day to make sure no more are in there (The first time I did it, 7 came out & the second time 4  )

Anyway I have now put the saved fry into my breeding trap with my molly fry, and I was wondering what I should be feeding them?

So far I have been feeding Hikari first bites, which is basically vitamin enriched powdered flakes, and algae wafers (I give them about a quater and throw the rest to mummy & Daddy! Can I also give them cucumber & peas or are they too young for this?

Thanks for any help
B

I give mine boiled zucchini (courgette) from day 2 of hatching

Boiled so it is very soft for their young little mouths!!!!!
(I suppose you could boil cucumber???!)

I find peas to be too much of a pollutant

if you just stuck with your fry bites and algae wafers only for a week or two they will do ok but they do love the zucchini!

have fun & all the best raising them...I assume it must be your first batch?

congratulations:hyper:

Thanks Brissiegal ;)

Yea they are my first batch :hyper: , not sure if i've got courgette at home but I will try cucumber.

Congrats mate :)

Good luck with your's, after about 2-3 weeks of my first batch being released into the tank (didn't use a brreding net or trap) I'm left with only 1 or 2 :(

Oh well, better luck with the next batch ;)

What were your water conditions by the way ? Temp etc ;)

congrats, they are so cool when little. for the intake problem, either use a sponge filter...or sponge on intake..not sure what u have right now. I have seen them jump from tank to the filter through the outflow! lol. see:
