Hi is this a normal BN or one of the fancy ones. Got it for £5 but it said starry Brislenose on the tank?

Had him since is was very very small and he growing like a house on fire and full of life always out and about which am very pleased with

it's defo an Ancistrus guessing it's L182 Starlight Ancistrus

Nope, definitley not a 182, i would put money on it been L59, orange on fins and tail pretty much gives it away, i could be wrong but im 100% sure thats its not a 182

No not really lol, ive found this species actually male and female grow bristles, if the bristles develope up the nose region toward the head then yes it's male, it could go either way at the moment going from the picture ;)

Aye but I was going more on the shape. As from what I read males tend to be longer and slimmer and females shorter and stubby?

How big is yours/how old?, still looks very much a juvinile so basically it has a lot of growing to do and i'ding sex the way uve mentioned is pointless.

I would guess around 3inch.

Am really happy with his/her personality seem very confident and not shy at all :)

Still alot of growing to do yet then, still could go either way... they are stunning little things but unfortunately the markings do tend to fade with age... still very nice though :)
