I have 2 young Cherax Destructor blue yabbies...1 moulted last week and she turned a "Normal" colour..is it because she was on a greyish gravel and had a 1/2 terra cotta pot for a "cave"...the other hasn't moulted yet and is till a bright blue..is there any feed that can be given to keep them blue? Also I would like to breed them if they are male and female, but am worried that one will eat the other? What do you do to keep this from happening? Thanks

Blue yabbies, i started off with them.
They will darken and lighten their color due with their lighting.
For instance, if they have light, they will be a light color, if dark, a dark color.

Thanks for that Samthefishman..I put a light on them..does the gravel have any thing to do with their colour? I changed it to white, and I gave them back their terra cotta "cave" as they looked too stressed without a hiding spot. :-( .although the aquarium shop I bought them from had no hide aways..just gravel....maybe thats why they were so bright blue?
