Hey all, My german blue rams had laid their eggs last night and i was wondering if anyone knew how fast they grow and anything I can do for them! please help.
Thanks to all

Its not easy to hatch german blue ram eggs. I wouldn't be suprised if they grow fungus and the parents eat them.

What are your water parameters.. dont forget water hardness! For happy GBRs pH should be between 6.0 and 7.0 I keep mine at 6.2 The water should be soft too. If you water is hard, your eggs wont hatch.

If they do hatch, just let the parents do all the work. I would get some liquid fry food to feed them when they become free swimming (that takes about 2-3 days) Do small frequent water changes as they are very tiny and very sensitive to ammonia spikes. Your going to need to get something (I used a fry net netting) to put over your filter so they dont get sucked in. GBR fry are EXTREMELY small. Other than that you dont need to do much.

If your eggs DONT hatch. Next time they spawn, take the eggs and put them in another tank and treat the water with methylene blue or maroxy (i used the later cause I couldn't get methylene blue). It helps to keep fungus off the eggs.

I got my blue rams to breed quite easily, and they got into a cycle of laying eggs every 7 days, don't be disheartened if you lose the first few batches as the fish have problems fertilizing the eggs at first. As they need to get the into the habit of laying the eggs.
