Blue Ram Breeding Behaviour?

hello, my two blue rams in my 143 litre tank seem to be cleaning everything,lol... i always see them together or alone, cleaning things. iv researched and supposebly they both clean an area before spawning, but mine clean all over the place? are they looking for a place to spawn? or are they just hungry? i mean i feed them enough...? when i say they clean everywhere, the male in particular stays at a certain spot, scares away other fish away from that spot and 'pecks' at the spot, then he will move somewhere else, and do the same thing there....???
im confused ! any helps much appreciated as to what there up to ! thanks.
